India are in Group A
The ICC has placed India in Group A alongside Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A for the 2027 Men's Cricket World Cup.
Two key India fixtures already stand out
- India vs Australia — 7 October 2027 — Cape Town; this is the opening group-stage match and a repeat of the 2023 World Cup final.
- India vs Pakistan — 10 October 2027 — Johannesburg.
How progression works
The tournament has two groups of six. The top three teams from each group progress to the Super 7 phase, joined by the better fourth-placed side across the two groups.
Why this matters now
The schedule gives publishers and fans a full year to build useful travel, fixture, team-comparison and tournament-explainer content instead of waiting until the event begins.
